3. Installation

Read the following notes carefully before installing Update.

3-1. Installation Requirements

Update must be installed on a computer with DocuWorks 6 (version 6.0.3) already installed.

3-2. Installation Notes

- Most files on the Setup disk are stored in compressed format and therefore cannot be used as they are. You must run the Setup program (Setup.exe) to install the software.
- Before you begin installation, be sure to exit all running applications.
- If you abort the Setup program midway through the installation, DocuWorks will not work. You must install the software again.
- If a file copy error occurs, try the following actions to resolve.
a. The destination directory or file is write-protected. Use a different directory or remove the write protection.
b. The original file of installation cannot be read. Use a correct setup disk.
- After the installation, do not change the structure of program files' directory or move files, otherwise DocuWorks may fail to run.
- To install DocuWorks in Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or Windows® XP, you need privileges equal to those of Administrators.
- If an older version of DocuWorks Viewer Light for Web is already installed on your PC, install DocuWorks Viewer Light for Web 6.1 by overwriting the older one.
- You cannot create an installation folder, a temporary file folder, or a DocuWorks Desk folder in the following locations. Doing so will prevent DocuWorks from working normally.
- Immediately under the drive, such as under "C:\"
- Removable media such as CD-R/W, MO, or memory card
- If restart is required after installation, be sure to log on as a user with Administrator-level privileges. Installation may not be successfully completed unless you log onto DocuWorks after restart.

1. Double-click on "setup.exe" from the directory created when the file extracted.
Installation starts.
2. Click [Next].
The [License Agreement] dialog box appears.
