CAUTION - CentreWare Web MUST be used to install this firmware. For CentreWare Web installation instructions, see sections 1.2 and 1.3 below. 1.1 Determining the correct firmware file. The purpose of these procedures is to identify which upgrade file needs to be applied to your machine(s). There are two firmware files for the WorkCentre 7132, depending on the installed options. To determine which firmware file is right for your machine, please check any one of the following. A. Xerox CentreWare Internet Services 1 Using a web browser, enter the machine's IP address and press [Enter] which will launch CentreWare Internet Services. 2 Click on the [Properties] tab. 3 Select the document icon [Configuration]. 4 Within the "Configuration" screen, look for either "Controller ROM" or "Controller+PS ROM" within the "Software" subsection. - If only "Controller ROM" is shown, select the "Standard" file. - If "Controller+PS ROM" is shown, select the "PostScript" file. B. Xerox WorkCentre 7132 System Settings List Document 1 From the machine, press the [Machine Status] button which is the lower left most button with an icon of the machine containing a question mark in the center. 2 Press the on-screen [Billing Meter / Print Report] tab. 3 Press the on-screen [Print Report / List] button. 4 Press the on-screen [Copy Mode Settings] button. 5 Press the on-screen [Settings List - Common Items] button followed by the green [Start] button to generate a hard copy of the "System Settings List" document. 6 On Page 1 of the document, within the "Software Version" section, look for either "Controller ROM" or "Controller+PS ROM". - If only "Controller ROM" is shown, select the "Standard" file. - If "Controller+PS ROM" is shown, select the "PostScript" file. C. Xerox WorkCentre 7132 Machine Information Screen 1 From the machine, press the [Machine Status] button followed by the on-screen [Machine Information] button. 2 Press the on-screen [Software Version] button. 3 Observe Item 1 on the machine user interface noting if "Controller ROM" or "Controller+PS ROM" is displayed. - If only "Controller ROM" is shown, select the "Standard" file. - If "Controller+PS ROM" is shown, select the "PostScript" file. D. Xerox CentreWare Web NOTE: This procedure assumes your machine has already been discovered and is contained within the CentreWare Web database. 1 Launch Xerox CentreWare Web. 2 From the "Devices" menu, select [Printers] followed by [All]. 3 Within the "Printers" section, enter the IP address of the machine in the "Find" field, select [IP Address] in the drop down list and press the [Go] button. 4 Click on the IP Address of the WorkCentre 7132 to be checked. The "Printer" tab for the machine will appear. 5 Scroll down to the "Printer Information" section and note the "Firmware Level" of the machine. - If the firmware level begins with "ESS" followed immediately by a number, select the "Standard" file. Example: ESS 1.202.1,IOT 10.5.0,FIN B12.12.0, IIT 7.5.0,ADF 11.6.3,FAX 1.30.50 - If the firmware version begins with "ESS PS" followed immediately by a number, select the "PostScript" file. Example: ESS PS1.202.1,IOT 10.5.0,FIN B12.12.0, IIT 7.5.0,ADF 11.6.3,FAX 1.30.50. 1.2 Adding the firmware upgrade file to CentreWare Web. The purpose of this procedure is to load the upgrade file into the CentreWare Web server. A. Download the correct firmware file for the machine being upgraded (see “1.1 Determining correct firmware file” above. Note the location of the downloaded file.) B. Launch CentreWare Web. C. From the "Wizards" menu, select [Upgrade Printers]. D. Within the "Upgrade File Actions" section, click on [Add / Delete Files] or select [Add / Delete Files] from the drop down list and click [Go]. E. Within the "File Actions (select file first)” section, click on [Add [1]] or select [Add [1]] from the drop down list and click [Go]. F. From the drop down list labeled "Exact Model", choose the "Xerox WorkCentre 7132". G. Within the "Upgrade File" field, press the [Browse…] button and select the location noted in step A above for the upgrade file. H. Within the "Attachment" field, press the [Browse…] button and select this ReadMe.txt file as an attachment. I. Within the "Description" field, enter appropriate verbiage to describe the upgrade file (e.g. Xerox WorkCentre 7132 - System Software Upgrade Version 1.202.5 - PostScript). J. Press the "Save" button. K. Press the "Back" button on the next screen to return to the main "Upgrade Printers" screen. 1.3 Applying the firmware upgrade file using CentreWare Web. The purpose of this procedure is to schedule a software upgrade operation. WARNING - It is recommended that the software upgrade operation be scheduled to occur after normal business hours when the machine is not in use. A. Launch CentreWare Web. B. From the "Wizards" menu, select [Upgrade Printers]. C. Within the "Upgrade Tasks (select task first)" section, click on [Schedule Upgrade [1]] or select [Schedule Upgrade [1]] from the drop down list and click [Go]. D. On the "Upgrade Printers (Step 1 of 4)" page, within the "Select Upgrade File" section, select the file added in section 1.2 above to be applied to the machine and press the [Continue] button. E. On the "Upgrade Printers (Step 2 of 4)" page, within the "Select Group" section, accept the default group [All] and press the [Continue] button. F. On the "Upgrade Printers (Step 3 of 4)" page, within the "Printers to Upgrade" section, select the target WorkCentre 7132 machine(s) to be upgraded and press the [Continue] button. G. On the "Upgrade Printers (Step 4 of 4)" page, within the "Schedule" section, select an upgrade option: - To upgrade the machine(s) now, choose the "Schedule" option of [Upgrade Now]. - To schedule a future upgrade time and date, choose the "Schedule" option of [Upgrade Later] and enter the desired date and time. H. Press the [Finish] button. I. The upgrade process will begin, at the appropriate time if scheduled, and status will be displayed.
