How To Configure DNS Settings at the Printer Control Panel

Domain Name System (DNS) is a system that maps host names to IP addresses.

NOTE: To quickly determine which model you are using, the B1022 printer has a 4-line LCD display screen while the B1025 printer has a touch screen. If necessary, click on the following link to learn more about the B1022 and B1025 Features/Differences. 

Configuring DNS Settings at the B1022 Printer

  1. At the control panel, press the Machine Status button.
  2. Select Network Settings.
  3. If a login prompt appears, to enter the administrator password, use the alphanumeric keypad.
  4. Select TCP/IPv4 > Static.
  5. To set the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS addresses, select Primary DNS or Secondary DNS.
    1. To enter the address, use the arrow buttons or the alphanumeric keypad.
    2. Press OK.

Configuring DNS Settings at the B1025 Printer

  1. At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.
  2. Touch Network Settings > TCP/IP Settings.
  3. Touch DNS Configuration.
    1. Touch Host Name.
    2. Type a host name.
    3. Touch OK.

      Note: For the following steps, if DHCP is enabled, the Domain Name and DNS Servers cannot be set manually.

    4. Touch Domain Name, then touch the Requested Domain Name field. To type the fully qualified domain name, use the touch screen keypad.
    5. Touch OK.
  4. Touch DNS Servers.
    1. Touch Primary DNS Server, then type the server address.
    2. Touch Alternate DNS Server #1, then type the server address.
    3. Touch Alternate DNS Server #2, then type the server address.
    4. Touch OK.
  5. To close the screen, touch X.
