Domain Name System (DNS) is a system that maps host names to IP addresses.
NOTE: To quickly determine which model you are using, the B1022 printer has a 4-line LCD display screen while the B1025 printer has a touch screen. If necessary, click on the following link to learn more about the B1022 and B1025 Features/Differences.
Configuring DNS Settings at the B1022 Printer
- At the control panel, press the Machine Status button.
- Select Network Settings.
- If a login prompt appears, to enter the administrator password, use the alphanumeric keypad.
- Select TCP/IPv4 > Static.
- To set the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS addresses, select Primary DNS or Secondary DNS.
- To enter the address, use the arrow buttons or the alphanumeric keypad.
- Press OK.
Configuring DNS Settings at the B1025 Printer
- At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.
- Touch Network Settings > TCP/IP Settings.
- Touch DNS Configuration.
- Touch Host Name.
- Type a host name.
- Touch OK.
Note: For the following steps, if DHCP is enabled, the Domain Name and DNS Servers cannot be set manually. - Touch Domain Name, then touch the Requested Domain Name field. To type the fully qualified domain name, use the touch screen keypad.
- Touch OK.
- Touch DNS Servers.
- Touch Primary DNS Server, then type the server address.
- Touch Alternate DNS Server #1, then type the server address.
- Touch Alternate DNS Server #2, then type the server address.
- Touch OK.
- To close the screen, touch X.
