Completely Remove all Xerox Software from Mac OS X 10.11 or Higher

NOTE: If any of the below files or folders do not delete. Reboot the Mac and Begin again. If any of the folders or files are not found continue onto the next step unless otherwise noted.

  1. Close all open applications.
  2. Select the Apple Menu from the Mac OS X Desktop.
  3. Select System Preferences.
  4. Select Printers & Scanners under Hardware.
  5. Select the Xerox Printer to be removed from the list of printers.
  6. Select the - (minus) symbol at the bottom of the list.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 and remove all Xerox Printers.
  8. Close the Printers & Scanners window.
  9. Open the Hard Disk normally located on the desktop.
  10. Browse to Applications folder.
  11. Delete the Xerox folder.
  12. Browse to Library/Applications Support/.

    NOTE: If your library folder is missing it may be hidden.

  13. Delete the Xerox folder.
  14. Browse to Library/ColorSync/Profiles/.
  15. Delete any files that begin with XRX or other Xerox files.
  16. Browse to Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/.
  17. Delete the Xerox printer packages.
  18. Browse to Library/Printers/.
  19. Delete all Xerox folders and files.
  20. Browse to Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/.
  21. Delete all Xerox folders and files.
  22. Browse to Library/Receipts/.
  23. Delete all of the following:
    • Files beginning and ending with pde***.pkg, xpd***.pkg.

      NOTE: The Asterisks *** denotes a wild card. i.e. pderc4f5.pkg.

    • Files beginning with ICC* and ICP*.
    • ICC_Profiles Folder.

  24. Browse to Library/Receipts/SSScan/.
  25. Delete all Xerox folders.
  26. Browse to Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/.
  27. Delete all files that begin with
  28. Delete all files that begin with files.
  29. Browse to Users/[username]/Library/Caches/.
  30. Delete all files that begin with XRXSetup.
  31. Delete all files that begin with within the Terminal Application.
    • Select the Go Menu from the Mac OS X Desktop.
    • Select Utilities.
    • Select Terminal.
    • Type the following:
      • cd /var/db/receipts/ .
      • ls - look to see if there are any* files.
      • sudo rm* (will prompt for admin password).

  32. Empty the Macs trash and reboot.
