Make Sure the DNS Settings on the Printer Are Correct Using CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS)

Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) are systems that map host names to IP addresses.

To modify the settings from the Control Panel:

  1. Press the Machine Status button on the Control Panel. The Machine Status screen will be displayed on the Touch Screen.
  2. Select the Tools tab on the Touch Screen.
  3. Select Connectivity and Network Setup.


    NOTE: If the Connectivity and Network Setup option is not displayed, it is required to login as a System Administrator to complete this solution. See the Related Content for additional information.

  4. Select Protocol Settings.
  5. Select IPv4 DNS Server Settings or IPv6 DNS Server Settings.
  6. Select Change Settings.
  7. To allow the DHCP server to provide the DNS server address:
    1. Select Get IP Address from DHCP.
    2. Select Enabled.
    3. Select the Save button.
  8. To manually provide the DNS server address:
    1. Select DNS Server IP Address.
    2. Enter the DNS server address.
    3. Select the Save button.
  9. Select the Close button.
  10. If necessary, press the Log In / Out button on the Control Panel and then select Logout on the Touch Screen to exit the System Administrator mode.

To modify the settings using CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS):

  1. Login to CWIS as the Administrator. See the Related Content for additional information.
  2. Select the Properties tab.
  3. Select Connectivity to expand the list of options.
  4. Select Protocols to expand the list of options.
  5. Select TCP/IP. The TCP/IP window will be displayed.
  6. Scroll down the page to the DNS Configuration section.
  7. Enter the IP address of the primary DNS server in the Preferred DNS Server field.
  8. Enter the IP address of any alternate DNS servers in the fields provided.

    NOTE: If the Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically option is enabled, the DNSServer fields will be automatically populated and cannot be modified. If the values displayed are incorrect, disable the Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically option in order to modify the DNS Server fields.

  9. Select Apply. A Settings have been changed message will be displayed.
  10. Select Reboot Machine. A Do you want to reboot? message will be displayed.
  11. Select OK.
  12. Select the Logout link in the upper, right corner to logout of CWIS.
