IMPORTANT: The printer must remain powered on during the conversion process.

IMPORTANT: The Conversion CRU can only be used one successful time to convert a single printer.

CAUTION: The Print Cartridge contains components that are sensitive to light, temperature, and humidity. Follow the recommendations provided to have the optimum performance, highest quality, and longest life from the new Print Cartridge.

Store the cartridge in the same environment as the printer it will be used in; this should be in controlled office temperature and humidity conditions. The Print Cartridge should remain in its original, unopened package until installation. If the original packaging is not available, cover the top opening of the cartridge with paper and store in a dark cabinet. Opening the cartridge package prior to use dramatically shortens its operating life.

Make Sure the Printer is at the Minimum Required Firmware Version:

IMPORTANT: The conversion will fail and display an "Invalid Print Cartridge" message, if the firmware version does not meet the minimum requirement.

  1. Print a Configuration sheet and review the Main Controller Board (MCD) field, located under the Device Setup heading. See the Related Content for additional information.
The minimum required version for the Phaser 3320 is:
    53.002.05.000
  2. If the printer is not at the required minimum firmware version, upgrade the firmware. See the Related Content for additional information.
