CAUTION: Performing a software reset/upgrade on printers equipped with a tablet can affect the special bundle that is installed on the tablet. If you are using a device with a tablet, contact Support for additional assistance.
NOTE: A software reset and a power Off and On will perform many of the same tasks; however, the main differences are as follows:
- A software reset clears the temporary files from the system and the network controller.
- A power Off and On shuts down the printer and clear any data in the volatile memory.
It is best to perform a software reset first.
- Perform a software reset if you have the appropriate access, if not, proceed to step 2. See the Related Content for additional information.
- If the software reset does not achieve the expected results, or the reset function is restricted by a System Administrator, perform a power off the printer, wait two minutes, then power the printer back on. See the Related Content for additional information.
NOTE: When performing the power Off and power On procedure, it is crucial that the printer remain completely powered off for a minimum of 2 minutes before powering back on in order for any residual power remaining in the device components to dissipate.
