Authentication Failure when Scanning to Email

Note: Before proceeding, ensure scan to email settings have been configured: Email SMTP Settings.

  1. Ensure the password for the email account is entered correctly. To verify if the password you are using is correct, visit the web-mail login page for the email provider and attempt to log in using the email account credentials.

  2. Verify if the correct SMTP server information is entered into the SMTP settings page.

  3. Some email accounts require additional levels of security to access the account. Please verify with the email provider if any additional steps such as “Second Factor Authentication”, “Device Login Verification”, or any “App Password” is required to log into the email server.

  4. Update the firmware on the machine.
