Important: The device does not have an address book to store fax phone numbers, email addresses, or network scan locations. Instead, these can be saved as a “shortcut” for quick use from the Control Panel. Shortcuts can only be created and managed from the Printer’s Embedded Web Server.

Adding a Shortcut via the Embedded Web Server: Note: If you are having difficulties seeing the menu option, you may have to Log in as a System Administrator to see hidden menu options.

  1. From a computer (on the same network as the printer) open a Web browser.

  2. In the Web browser address field, enter the IP address of the printer and then press Enter or Return. The printer home page will be displayed.

  3. Click Shortcuts.

  4. Click Add Shortcut.

  5. Click Shortcut Type and specify either Email, Fax, FTP, or SMB.

Note: For FTP and SMB setups, please refer to Configure Scan to Network (SMB)/FTP Settings Using the Embedded Web Server.

  6. For Email and Fax provide information for the following fields:

    • Shortcut Name

    • Shortcut Number (Number from 0-99)

    • To: (specify the fax number or email address you wish to save)

  7. Specify any additional information and click Save.

Using a Shortcut via the Control Panel

  1. Load your original documents:

    1. Use the document glass for single pages or paper that cannot be fed using the automatic document feeder. Lift the document feeder, then place the original document face down in the upper-left corner of the document glass.

    2. For single or multiple pages, use the automatic document feeder. Remove any staples and paper clips from the pages. Insert the original documents face up in the document feeder, with the top of the page entering the feeder first. Adjust the paper guides so that they fit against the original documents.

  2. Press Shortcuts.

  3. Press Fax, Email, or Scan to Network.

  4. Press the Shortcut you created to start the job.
