- Make sure the printer has been set to “Use PrinterOnline.
- Select the Start icon on the bottom left of your screen, select Control Panel, and then select Devices and Printers.
- Right-click the printer in question and select See what’s printing.
- From the window that opens, select Printer from the menu bar at the top.
- Select Use Printer Online from the drop-down menu.
- Disable SNMP in the printer port settings:
Note: The instructions listed will not work with WSD ports, USB ports, or Macintosh ports.- Select the Start icon on the bottom left of your screen, select Control Panel, and then select Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on the printer in question and select printer properties.
- Click on the Ports tab at the top.
- Select the port to work with; and then click on the Configure Port button.
- Uncheck the box for SNMP status enabled.
- Click on OK.
- If connected via a USB cable, try a new USB cable. The USB cable should be one single cable that is shorter than 12 feet in length.
- Make sure the USB cable is connected directly from the computer to the printer. Do not connect the printer to a USB hub for connectivity as it is not supported and can cause communication issues.
- If connected via a Wi-Fi Ethernet network, print a configuration page to verify that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. If it is not, reconnect the printer to the correct Wi-Fi Ethernet network. For details, refer to Connect the Printer to a Wireless (Wi-Fi) Network Using the Xerox Easy Wireless Setup Program.
- If connected via Wired Ethernet, try a different Ethernet cable and verify that the port that the printer is connected to is working.
- If the problem persists, contact Support for additional assistance.
