This is a known issue with a limited number of machines. A new part has been designed to resolve this problem. However, there is a delay with obtaining the part due to the current circumstances with COVID-19.
In the meantime, to reduce the occurrence of this issue, try any of the following workarounds:
- If the machine is not a high-usage machine, power it off when not in use.
- Adjust the power saver timeout settings. The default setting for this machine is 1 minute for Low Power mode and 5 minutes for Sleep mode. These settings can be adjusted up to 59 minutes. Refer to How To Configure Power Saver Settings for additional information.
- Recommended action to prevent the machine from going into Sleep mode:
- Leave the Duplex Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) Top Cover open. This will allow the device to continue to print jobs with no user intervention.
- Leave the Duplex Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) Top Cover open. This will allow the device to continue to print jobs with no user intervention.
- Alternative actions:
- Leave the right side cover open.
- Leave the rear cover open.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you close both the right side and rear covers before resuming use of the machine.
