Items to Check for Slow Printing:
Print speed is rated on a page-per-minute basis. This encompasses print engine speed only, and does not take into account processing time or file transfer rates.
Total print time is affected by many factors, some of which are listed below:
Image complexity
Image size (amount of coverage)
Collation from the software application
Number of non-resident fonts used
Type of connection used, network configuration, and network traffic
Printer memory configuration
Resolution / print quality settings
Media type setting
To help test the print engine speed of the printer, print some information pages such as the Demonstration Print. If the pages print at the rated speed of the printer, there could be other factors causing the slow printing. For additional assistance, contact your network or system administrator.
Other Items to Check for Slow Printing:
Make sure the printer is not in Power Saver mode. It takes time for printing to start when the printer is coming out of Power Saver mode.
Modify the print quality mode. For additional information, refer to How To Modify the Print Quality Mode (Standard, Enhanced, or Photo Mode).
