Streaks or lines on copies and prints can be caused by contamination, dirt or debris within the paper path, such as on the printhead lenses or transfer belt. Such defects can also be caused by using old or damp paper supplies or paper not within the machines proper specifications.

  1. Make sure you are using the correct paper type for the printer. For details, refer to Paper and Paper Tray Specifications.

  2. Copy or print 10-20 blank copies to help clean the paper path and feed rollers. There may be some toner built up in this area.

  3. Print the Repeating Defects Page to help identify the cause of the defect.

  4. Remove and Reinstall the Required Color Drum Cartridge (Imaging Unit) Associated With the Problem, and then try to copy and print again.

  5. The drum cartridge may be defective. Replace the Required Drum Cartridge..

  6. If the problem persists, contact Support.
