Set Policies for When a Paper Type is Unavailable Using the Embedded Web Server

  1. Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (Web Interface). See the Related Content for additional information.

    IMPORTANT: Some features or settings are only visible or adjustable when logged in as a System Administrator. See the Related Content for additional information.

  2. Click System > Defaults and Policies.
  3. For Printer Settings, click Specified Paper is Unavailable.
  4. Select an option:
    • Prompt to Load Paper: This option requires a user to load the specified paper type before the job can proceed.
    • Letter/A4 Substitution: This option allows the printer to substitute a loaded media that is of similar size.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Restart Now.
