When Trays 1–4 are set to Allow Change mode, paper settings can be modified each time paper is loaded in the tray. When the tray is closed, a prompt is displayed on the Control Panel to change the tray settings for paper size, type, and color.

When Trays 1–4 are set to No Attribute Change mode, the prompt to change the tray settings does not appear. The printer uses the paper guide settings to determine the paper size, and the current Control Panel settings for the type and color of paper.

When paper is loaded into the Bypass Tray, a prompt is displayed on the Control Panel to change the tray settings. No Attribute Change mode does not affect Bypass Tray paper size, type, and color behavior.
