Black Lines or Bands on Copies When Using the Document Feeder

This article relates to Black Lines or Bands that occur only when making copies using the Document Feeder. These defects can occur in instances when dirt and debris are located within the Constant Velocity Transfer (CVT) glass area, software issues requiring a Software Reset, how the originals are loaded into the Document Feeder or with the paper type being used.

• Make Sure Originals Are Within Document Feeder Specifications

• Isolate Image Quality Issue to Copies Only

• Use Originals in Good Condition

• Clean the Document Glass and the Constant Velocity Transport (CVT) Glass

• Clean the CIS (Contact Image Sensor)

• Enable Background Suppression for Current Copy Job

• Perform a Software Reset or a Power Off and Power On as Required
