Silk Stock | ||
Many printing technologies including the iGen Family using certain types of silk or matte media, the printed output may experience ink rub, also referred to as smudging, smearing, chalking or scuffing from contact with the adjacent sheet. Selecting a different brand, adding a protective coating the finish of printed or adjacent media will reduce or eliminate this effect. | Matte and silk media have an abrasive surface that creates abrasive rubbing between sheets during transport, or heavy handling, finishing, or shipping operations. The abrasive movement picks up surface ink from imaged areas into non-imaged areas. For best results test the post print finishing and handling of output using the desired medias. | |
