Domain Name System (DNS) is a system that maps host names to IP addresses.
NOTE: This solution requires knowledge your network and may require the assistance of a System Administrator.
To configure DNS Settings from the printer control panel:
- At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.
- Touch Network Settings > TCP/IP Settings.
- Touch DNS Configuration.
- Touch Host Name.
- Type a host name.
- Touch OK.
NOTE: For the following steps, if DHCP is enabled, the Domain Name and DNS Servers cannot be set manually. - Touch Domain Name, then touch the Requested Domain Name field. To type the fully qualified domain name, use the touch screen keypad.
- Touch OK.
- Touch DNS Servers.
- Touch Primary DNS Server, then type the server address.
- Touch Alternate DNS Server #1, then type the server address.
- Touch Alternate DNS Server #2, then type the server address.
- Touch OK.
- To close the screen, touch X.
To configure DNS Settings using CentreWare Internet Services:
- In Xerox CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties > Connectivity > Protocols.
- Click TCP/IP.
- Under DNS Configuration, enter the IP Address for up to three servers.
- Click Apply.
