Configure the Machine for TCP/IP With a Static (Manual) IP Address

NOTE: The following steps assume that the Phaser 3635MFP is operating correctly and is connected to an Ethernet network connection. See the Related Content for additional information.
When the Phaser 3635MFP is powered on the first time after installation, it automatically uses DHCP to obtain its network configuration. In order to manually assign a static IP address, DHCP must first be disabled, and then the IP address, gateway address, subnet mask, and DNS Server address must be manually entered.
Before beginning, make sure to have the following information available. This information should be provided by a Network Administrator:
IP Address
Gateway Address
Subnet Mask
DNS Server Address
Step 1: Disable DHCP
Press the [Log In / Out] button on the Control Panel.
Enter the password using the numeric keypad, and then select [Enter] on the Touch Screen.
NOTE: The default password is "1111". It is recommended that the System Administrator change this password. For additional information, press the [Help] button on the Control Panel.Press the [Machine Status] button on the Control Panel.
Select the [Tools] tab on the Touch Screen.
Select [Connectivity and Network Setup].
Select [Advanced].
Select [Network Setting].
Select [Network Setup].
Select [TCP/IP Options].
Select [TCP/IP Settings].
By default, DHCP will be selected. Select [Disabled], and then select [Save]. DHCP will be disabled.
Step 2: Configure the static IP address
Select [Name / Address].
To enter the IP address, select each octet field under the IP Address header, and then enter the three-digit number using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel.
Enter the Host Name using correct capitalization.
NOTE: To access more characters, select [123] on the Touch Screen.Select [Save].
Select [Subnet and Gateway].
To enter the subnet mask, select each octet field under the Subnet Address header, and then enter the three-digit number using the numeric keypad.
To enter the gateway mask, select each octet field under the IP Gateway Address header, and then enter the three-digit number using the numeric keypad.
Select [Save] to accept the changes and return to the TCP/IP Settings screen.
Select [Close]. The broadcast address will be assigned automatically.
Step 3: Configure DNS/DDNS
Select [TCP/IP Settings].
Select [DNS Configuration].
NOTE: This option will be grayed out if the TCP/IP protocol is not enabled.Select the [Domain Name] button.
Select the [Clear Text] button to remove the default name before entering the new name.
Select [Save].
Select [Close].
Select [Preferred DNS Server].
To enter the server address, select each octet field under the DNS Server IP Address header, and then enter the three-digit number using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel.
If necessary, select [Alternate DNS Servers] and enter additional addresses, as required.
Select [Save].
Step 4 (Optional): Enable Dynamic DNS Registration
NOTE: If the DNS Server does not support dynamic updates, this feature does not need to be enabled. Continue with the final step to log out of the machine.
Select [Dynamic DNS Registration].
Select [Enable].
Select [Save].
Select [Close].
Select the [Log In / Out] button, and then select [Confirm] to log out and close the Tools menu.
