  6. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Static], and then press the [OK] button.

  7. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Primary DNS Address], and then press the [OK] button.

Using CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS):

NOTE: Users may be required to login as a System Administrator to view or modify settings within CentreWare Internet Services. If prompted, login using the System Administrator username and password. The default username is "admin", and the default password is "1111".

  1. Open CWIS. See the Related Content section for additional information.

  2. Click on the [Properties] tab.

  3. Click on [Connectivity] to expand the list.

  4. Click on [Protocols] to expand the list.

  5. Click on [TCP/IP].

  6. Enter the following DNS information in the TCP/IPv4 or TCP/IPv6 section (depending on the network environment).

For TCP/IPv4:

  1. Enter the IP address of the primary DNS server in the Preferred DNS Server field.

  2. Enter the IP address of alternate DNS servers in the Alternate DNS Server 1 and Alternate DNS Server 2 fields.

NOTE: If DHCP is enabled, the DNS Server fields will be unavailable (grayed out).

  3. Click in the [Dynamic DNS Registration] check box to enable it.

NOTE: If your DNS Server does not support dynamic updates, there is no need to enable DDNS.

  4. For Zero-Configuration Networking:

    1. Click in the [Self Assigned Address] check box to allow the printer to assign itself an IP address.

NOTE: This is useful in situations where the device cannot connect to the DHCP server to obtain an IP address.

    2. If necessary, click in the [Multicast DNS] check box to enable DNS queries over IP Multicast.

NOTE: This is required for the Apple Rendezvous protocol to map a host name to an IP address, used to advertise services.

  5. Click on the [Apply] button to save the changes.

For TCP/IPv6:

  1. Enter a valid IPv6 Domain Name in the field provided.

  2. Enter an IP address for the Primary DNSv6 Server Address in the field provided.

  3. Enter an IP address for the Secondary DNSv6 Server Address in the field provided.

  4. Click in the [Dynamic DNSv6 Registration] check box to enable it.

NOTE: If your DNS Server does not support dynamic updates, there is no need to enable DDNS.

  5. Click on the [Apply] button to save the changes.
