Configure DNS Settings

Domain Name System (DNS) is a system that maps host names to IP addresses.

NOTE: This solution requires knowledge your network and may require the assistance of a System Administrator.

To configure DNS Settings from the printer control panel:

  1. At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.

  2. Touch Network Settings > TCP/IP Settings.

  3. Touch DNS Configuration.

    1. Touch Host Name.

    2. Type a host name.

    3. Touch OK.

      NOTE: For the following steps, if DHCP is enabled, the Domain Name and DNS Servers cannot be set manually.

    4. Touch Domain Name, then touch the Requested Domain Name field. To type the fully qualified domain name, use the touch screen keypad.

    5. Touch OK.

  4. Touch DNS Servers.

    1. Touch Primary DNS Server, then type the server address.

    2. Touch Alternate DNS Server #1, then type the server address.

    3. Touch Alternate DNS Server #2, then type the server address.

    4. Touch OK.

  5. To close the screen, touch X.

To configure DNS Settings using CentreWare Internet Services:

  1. In Xerox CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties > Connectivity > Protocols.

  2. Click TCP/IP.

  3. Under DNS Configuration, enter the IP Address for up to three servers.

  4. Click Apply.
