The Xerox® Intelligent Barcode Printing Solutions enable Xerox® printers
for printing SAP standard barcodes in PostScript and PCL.
The intelligent barcode printing solutions support the following barcode functions:
The Xerox® PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution is a printerbased intelligent barcode printing solution that enables Xerox® PostScript printers for automated and error free barcode printing from SAP R/3, SAP R/3 Enterprise, SAP ERP Central Components, MS Word or other ERP applications that support PostScript printing. Once installed, the Xerox® PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution seamlessly integrates into the SAP system and allows the printing of barcodes on any appropriately configured Xerox® PostScript printer in the SAP network. Xerox® printers can be enabled for PS barcode printing by obtaining the Xerox® Barcode Pro SP Solution, which can be downloaded free of charge. The height and length of the printed barcodes in the PostScript solution are adjustable to allow for proper page formatting or to improve barcode scanning.
Xerox Barcode Pro PS Solution contents:
The Xerox® PCL Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution is a printer-based intelligent barcode printing solution that enables Xerox® printers for automated and error free barcode printing from SAP R/3 Enterprise and SAP ERP Central Components. Xerox® printers can be enabled for PCL barcode printing by obtaining the Xerox® PCL Barcode Solution, which can be downloaded free of charge.
Xerox PCL Barcode Solution Contents:
The Unicode Standard is a character coding system designed to support
the worldwide interchange, processing and display of the diverse
languages of the modern world. Unicode removes the limitations of
traditional character encodings, such as those defined by the ISO 8859
standard, which find wide usage in various countries of the world but
remain largely incompatible with each other. For more information on
Unicode, refer to http://www.unicode.org. Some Xerox® printers can be
enabled for Unicode printing from an SAP application, which offers simple
and convenient printing of most standard and special characters for nearly
all of the world’s languages. Unicode will allow global, multinational
enterprises to consolidate the number of printing devices containing
individual local language support solutions, where the same device with
the same generic set-up can print any documentin a local language.
Simplifying device management provides significant savings in
development, consumables and support costs, and greatly reduces
system complexity.

Xerox® SAP UTF-8 device types and documentation are available from the
SAP Service Marketplace via SAP Note 1447606 or download Xerox® SAP device types.
To enable the Xerox® printer for Unicode printing, obtain the Unicode
Printing Solution for models which support the UTF-8 character set, where
an optional kit is available called Xerox® International Unicode Printing.
