Special Navigation/Activation Keyboard Shortcuts

In addition to the common keyboard shortcuts, the Xerox Nuvera provides special navigation and activation keys. These keys allow the user to navigate around the user interface and interact with the components and features of the system.

Split Pane

F6

Moves the focus between the panes to first focusable element in pane.

 

F8

Gives focus to splitter bar. Arrow, Home and End keys can be used to move the bar. Arrow keys give fine control of movement. Home and End keys effectively hide an entire pane from view.

Mode Indicators

Control-D

Shortcut puts focus on first mode indicator, from which the user can post the tool tip. Mode indicators can include one or more of the following modes: Secure, Job Fault, Diagnostic, Remote Workflow, and Logging.

Pause button(s)

Control-P

Pauses the printer or scanner.

Tab Pane

Control-Up Arrow

Puts focus at the selected tab.

 

Arrows

Moves between tabs.

 

Control Page Up

Moves to previous tab, preparing to enter first focusable component in tab.

 

Control Page Down

Moves to next tab, preparing to enter first focusable component in tab.

Feature Access Buttons (FAB)

Control-Shift-Left Arrow/ Control-Shift-Right Arrow

Moves the focus between a FAB and the first focusable element within that FAB.

Tables

Tab

Moves focus one cell to the right. If the table cells are selected, the focus should wrap, left to right, top to bottom and then back to the top of the selected region.

 

Shift-Tab

Moves focus one cell to the left. With cell selection, Shift tab behaves similarly to Tab, but in the reverse order.

 

Return/Enter

Move focus one cell down, row selection follows focus. At bottom of table, focus wraps to top of column. If more than one cell is selected, the focus should wrap to traverse each selected column in turn and then repeat from the beginning.

 

Shift-Return/ Shift-Enter

Behaves the same as Return/Enter but in the reverse direction.

 

Up/Down Arrow

Deselects current selection and moves focus up/down one cell, re-establishing row selection in focused cell row.

 

Left/Right Arrow

Deselects current selection and moves focus left/right one cell.

 

Page Up/Page Down

Deselects current selection. When no vertical scrollbar is visible, moves focus and row selection to last/first row in table. The focused cell remains in the same column in which it originated. When a vertical scrollbar is visible, scrolls the table up/down one row and re-establishes the selected row as the last/first visible row in table. The focus is moved, within its current column to the newly selected row.

 

Control-PageUp/ Control-PageDown

Deselects current selection. When no horizontal scrollbar is visible, moves focus to first/last cell in row and re-establishes row selection where focused cell resides. When a horizontal scrollbar is visible, scrolls the table to left/right to make first incompletely displayed column visible and places the focus in that column. Row selection is re-established in focused cell row.

 

Home/End

Deselects current selection. Moves focus to first/last cell in row and re-establishes row selection in focused cell row.

 

Control-Home/ Control-End

Deselects current selection. Moves focus to first/last row in table within the same column where focus originated and re-establishes the row selection.

 

Control-A

Select all rows in a table.

 

Shift-End

Selects whole row.

 

Shift-Up Arrow/ Shift-Down Arrow

Extend selection up/down one row in table.

 

Shift-PageUp/

Extend Selection up/down one "table page" at a time. When no vertical scrollbar is visible, moves focus and row selection to last/first row in table. The focused cell remains in the same column in which it originated. Row selection is established from original row in which focus resided to the row in which the focus has been moved.
When a vertical scrollbar is visible, scrolls the table up/down one row and moves the focus within its current column to the newly visible row. Row selection is established from original row in which focus resided to the row in which the focus has been moved.

 

Control-Shift Home/ Control-Shift End

Extend Selection from current row where focus resides to beginning/end of table. Focus does not move.

 

Space

Presents popup menu, if one exists.

 

Alt-Right Arrow/ Alt-Left Arrow

Move table column where focus resides right/left, one column in the table.

 

Shift – Up Arrow/ Shift – Down Arrow

Extend selection up/down one row in table.

 

Shift-PageUp/
Shift-PageDown

Sort column where focus resides in ascending/descending order. (This assumes that the table has sorting activated.)

 

Up/Down Arrow

Deselects current selection and moves focus up/down one element, > re-establishing selection on focused list element.

 

Page Up/Page Down

Deselects current selection. When no vertical scrollbar is visible, moves focus and element selection to last/first element in list. When a vertical scrollbar is visible, scrolls the list up/down one row and moves focus and element selection to the last/first visible element in list.

 

Home/End

Moves focus and selection to first/last element in list.

 

Control-A

Select all elements in list.

 

Shift-Up Arrow/ Shift-Down Arrow

Extend selection up/down one list element at a time. Focus moves too.

 

Shift-Page Up/ Shift-Page Down

Extend selection up/down one "page view" at a time. Focus moves to bottom/top of selection.

 

Shift-Home/ Shift-End

Extend selection to top/bottom of list. Focus moves to top/bottom of list.

Scroll Bars

Up/Down Arrow

Scroll viewing window up/down one row at a time.

 

Page Up/Page Down

Scroll viewing window up/down one "page view" at a time.

 

Home/End

Scroll viewing window to the top/bottom of displayed component (eg. tree, table, or list).

Pop Up Menu

Space/Enter

Select menu item with focus.

 

Up/Down Arrow

Move focus to previous/next menu item.

 

Right Arrow

Assuming focus is at a cascading menu element, open up a cascading menu.

 

Left Arrow

Assuming focus is at a cascading menu element, close the cascading menu.

 

Esc

Exit pop up menus.

Pull Down Box Menu

Space/Down Arrow

Post (activate) menu.

 

Up/Down Arrow

Move focus and select previous/next menu item.

 

Esc

Exit pull down menus.

Menu Bar

F10

Launch menu.

 

Up/Down Arrow

Move focus to previous/next menu item.

Select focused menu item.

Directory Tree

Up/Down Arrow

Move focus and selection up/down one row in directory tree.

 

Left/Right Arrow

Move focus left/right one column in directory tree. If closed folder is selected, right arrow opens folder when it is not empty. If folder is open and selected, left arrow closes folder.

 

Page Up/Down

Move up/down one "page view", first focusable component in view gets focus and selection.

 

Home/End

Move to first/last element in tree. This element gets the focus and selection.

 

Control-Left Arrow/ Control-Right Arrow

Move focus up/down one row in directory tree.

 

Control-Page Up/ Control-Page Down

Move up/down one "page view", first focusable component in view gets focus.

 

Control-Home/ Control-End

Move to first/last element in tree. This element gets the focus.

 

Space

Select element in directory tree where focus is located.

Tool Tip

Control-F1

Launch tool tip if one is attached to focused component.

 

Control-F1/Esc

Dismiss tool tip.
